Job Description:

Job Title: Instrumentation Detail Design Engineer

Experience Level :1–5 Years

Engineering Discipline: Instrumentation & Control Engineering (I&C)

Location: Vadodara 

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Instrumentation Design Engineer with experience in detail engineering job of industrial process plants. The candidate will be responsible for preparing instrumentation engineering documents, developing instrument databases, preparing material requisitions, evaluating vendor offers, and reviewing vendor documentation in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.

The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of field instrumentation, process control systems, engineering documentation, and EPC project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instrument Index Preparation

* Generate Instrument Index from approved P&IDs

* Assign instrument tag numbers as per project tagging philosophy.

* Update index based on engineering documents revisions.

* Ensure consistency between:

· P&IDs

· Instrument Datasheets

· Hook-up Drawings

· I/O List

2. Instrument Datasheet Preparation

Prepare Instrument Datasheets for various field instruments including:

* Pressure Transmitters

* Differential Pressure Transmitters

* Pressure Gauges

* Temperature Transmitters

* RTDs / Thermocouples

* Temperature Gauges

* Flowmeters

* Level Transmitter 

* Level Gauge

* Control Valves

* On-Off Valves

* Safety valves

* Analytical Instruments

* Coordinate with Process, Piping disciplines, Mechanical, Electrical engineering discipline for technical inputs.

3. Material Requisition (MR) Preparation

Prepare Material Requisitions for:

* Field Instruments

* Junction Boxes

* Instrument Accessories

* Tubing & Fittings

* Instrument Cables

* Cable Glands

* Instrument mounting Supports

* Instrumentation packages (CEMS, Analyzer house, Metering systems, etc)

4. Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE)

* Prepare Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) documents as per project template

* Compare vendor offers on:

· Instrument specifications

· Process parameters compliance 

· Material compatibility

· Hazardous Area Certification

· Accuracy

· Rangeability

· Communication Protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)

· SIL requirements (where applicable)

· Installation requirements compatibility

· Prepare technical clarification queries 

· Recommend technically acceptable vendors

5. Vendor Print Review

Review and approve vendor documents including:

* GA Drawings

* Hook-up Drawings

* Wiring Diagrams

* Installation Drawings

* Instrument Datasheets

* Test reports

* Calibration Certificates

* Cable Schedules

* Junction Box Drawings

* Control Valve Drawings

* Valve Sizing Calculations

* Foundation Drawings

Required Technical Skills:

* Good understanding of Process Instrumentation 

* Knowledge of Pressure, Temperature, Flow and Level measurement principles.

* Understanding of Control Valves and On-Off Valves.

* Knowledge of hazardous area classification (IECEx/ATEX) is desirable.

* Familiarity with engineering standards such as:

· ISA

· IEC

· API

· ISO

· ASME

* Ability to read and interpret:

· P&IDs

· Process Datasheets

· Instrument Hook-ups

· Loop Diagrams

· Wiring Diagrams

· Cause & Effect Matrix

Software Skills:

* Microsoft Excel

* Microsoft Word

* Microsoft PowerPoint

* Smart Plant Instrumentation (Hexagon) 

* E3D/PDMS (basic understanding) – Preferred

* Adobe Acrobat

Educational Qualification:

* B.E./ B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent.

* Diploma holders with relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience:

* Experience in  EPC, Engineering Consultancy, System Integration, or Process Industry projects is preferred.
